Slice of Life Day 29

I was working with my students today and explaining how to do a cereal box project for Open House next week. I looked around the room to see if there were any questions. Austin, a very bright student, was yawning in a very big way. Since he didn't cover his mouth it was very easy to see just how wide his mouth was open. I couldn't resist and quipped, "Austin, your yawn is soooo wide that I can almost count your teeth!" He laughed and blushed. I later apologized if I had embarrassed him and he said he thought it was funny. I probably shouldn't have said that, but it was an example of not thinking before speaking. Even the teacher is guilty of that sometimes.
