A Teacher's To Do List for Last Week of School

With just 7 days of school left, here's what is on my Teacher to do list:
  1. Finish report cards, have principal sign, copy them, stuff in envelopes for parents, and file original in student's permanent records (known as "cum files")
  2. File latest reading assessment and writing assessment in language arts portfolio
  3. collect all student textbooks and account for them
  4. pack up my personal and professional materials to move to a different classroom
  5. finish DVD of photos with music, test, and distribute to students
  6. Have students clean out desks
  7. Take down all student work and distribute to go home
  8. Take everything off the walls and shelves, pack up classroom for summer cleaning
  9. Go through each student's "cum file" and add important information
  10. Write cards of appreciation and support to some colleagues
  11. Write thank you card to new principal for his leadership and support
  12. Prepare "end of year" gift bags for students
  13. Organize year-end grade-level picnic with colleagues (make sure there is enough food!)

And to prepare for next school year:

  1. Go through my professional books and decide which ones to take home to read this summer

Gosh, that sounds like quite a lot to me! :) Hope it all gets done, as stress-free as possible, and you enjoy this last week!

Are you off for the rest of the summer after that?
