My Heart is Full

Our youngest son, Michael, is working at a Salvation Army camp this summer in Calabasas, CA. He's a cabin leader. He is with his kids 23.5 hours a day. It is not easy for him. The first week he had five kids. They were engaging in "race wars"
between Mexicans and blacks. They are NINE years old. He was very discouraged by their behavior.

He called me this morning. Communication is rare because reception is poor at the camp and he is with the kids ALL the time. He told me he had a much better week. The new group of kids was much better behaved. He was chosen as Cabin Leader of the Week. He sounds really good.

And I give thanks to a God who hears the fervent prayers of a mother who prays that her son does not become discouraged in doing good work for Jesus. And I smile again at the faithfulness of God.

And my heart is full.
