Celebrating Margarita!

Wednesday, May 27th, was my hubby's sister's 50th birthday. Margarita is very special to me. She is just a wonderful, kind-hearted, loving, caring woman. She is my son Matthew's godmother. Nearly 11 years ago, she nearly lost her life to a very unexpected, strange infection. Her skin blistered and she was placed in the burn unit of a hospital for over a month. Her blood became infected and her life was in danger. So many family and friends, as well as her pastor, prayed over her and for her. My dear loop friends will remember this time as they also prayed for her around the country. God heard all the prayers and performed a miracle. She made a complete recovery! God obviously was not done with Margarita yet and has many plans for her life! My other SIL, Maria, planned this special day for her sister and I was fortunate enough to be invited along. We started the day with a matinee showing of The Soloist . I really enjoyed the movie and thought that Jamie Foxx did an incredible job playing the part of a mentally ill homeless person. Afterwards, we walked around the shopping area and then went for an hour long massage. We sure felt a lot more relaxed after that! Then we went out to dinner at this fabulous restaurant, The Melting Pot, Fondue, Fine Wines, Cheese Fondue, Chocolate Fondue, Fondue Parties, Girls Night Out, Dip, Chocolate, Cheese. Here are some photos of our meal there! First of all, the birthday girl (on the left) and her sister enjoying their Italian Margaritas! This one shows Margarita with her cooked lobster bite coming out of the fondue pot. On the left you can see all the raw meats waiting to be cooked and on the right are the vegetables. There were several different sauces to dip the cooked food into.
Then there was the platter of sweets to be dipped into the Tiramsu chocolate sauce:

It was a long day of pure indulgence, celebrating the birthday of one of my most favorite people in this whole world. I'm grateful for the opportunity to celebrate with her and to let her know just how special she is to me. I'm still working on the shawl I'm knitting for her gift. With any luck, it'll be finished before the fall!
