Mmmm...Marshmallow Cake

This is a yummy recipe that is so easy to prepare! It's fun for kids to help assemble and observe how the cake comes out after baking.

Ingredients:

1 cake mix (any flavor, I used white)
1 can cherry pie filling
4 cups mini-marshmallows (a 1 lb. bag will yield more than enough)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13" baking pan. Spread marshmallows over bottom of pan. Prepare cake mix as directed on the box and spread cake batter over marshmallows. Then spread pie filling over cake mix. Bake for one hour (don't take out too soon!)

Here are the "before" pictures taken on 4th of July:

Here's what the baked cake looks like:

The cherries sink to the bottom and the marshmallows rise to the top. It's a very yummy cake. I got the recipe from Bloomin' Knitiot, though she doesn't take credit for creating the recipe. If you know who to give credit for it to, please let me know.
