This is Joseph, my first born son. He's beginning his senior year of high school in less than two weeks. I love this photo I took of him on the beach one July evening. He was faced away from the rest of us, looking off into the distance. He's got a lot on his mind...what he wants to be when he grows up, which colleges to apply to, where his life is headed. He has shared some thoughts with me and I feel honored. Honored that a sixteen year old boy would trust his thoughts to his mother. Honored that he might value my advice and opinions. But most of all, I'm just honored to call him "my son" because he is an exceptional young man.
