This Weekend I...

• cheered on our fourth and fifth grade students as they competed in our city's Battle of the Books (they lost)
• made it to the very end of a colleague's retirement party (she's taught for 42 years)
• enjoyed a leisurely cup of coffee on Saturday morning
• watched the season finale of Modern Family and Grey's Anatomy
• went shopping at Kohl's and bought three gift cards, a birthday gift for my SIL, a gift for my friend, Terry, and earrings for myself
• chatted with my sister on the phone
• spent too much time on Facebook
• got all dressed up and went to a 50th anniversary party for my husband's cousin
• enjoyed a very sweet slow dance with my sweetheart
• went to church and was so happy to have my friend, Sandy, join me for her first time there
• baked four dozen cake mix cookies for Sunday School refreshments
• finished reading Elizabeth Berg's new book, The Last Time I Saw You
• enjoyed a short nap
• went out for an early birthday dinner to The Cheesecake Factory with two of my SILs
• shared a slice of Red Velvet Cheesecake with them
• had a chai latte at Starbucks with them because we had more talking to do!
